Name: Peppy [Photo on first page. Photo for this page coming soon.]
Approximate age: 7
Species: African Grey Parrot [Timneth]
Peppy now belongs to Laura K. of Concern For Critters. He was rescued in 2007 from a man who no longer wanted him, complaining that he "screamed" too much. Poor Peppy has never had a home where he stayed for a prememnet periode of time. Peppy was already six years old when he was put in the paper for the third or fouth time for sale. The man who placed the add, wanted eight-hundred dollars for the bird, cage and all. Laura gave him her offer of five hundred dollars and a week later, the man returned and said he didn't get any bites and asked if her offer still stood. Laura told the man she would have to look at him first.
Several days later, Laura and her daughter Mary went to visit the man at his home to take a look at Peppy. When they walked in, they expected a half plucked to death [Condo] Grey. Instead, they found a fat little Timneth who had only started to pluck at his left leg. He only ate sunflower seeds which was very unhealthy to being with but his owner was also very ignorant to how to properly take care of the bird. But that was it, they were love struck.
Today, Peppy's favorite treat is a peanut and his nervousness has lowered greatly. He loves to be out of his cage and demands attention when he wants it.
